How It Got Started

Imagine growing up in a two-bedroom house with your mom, six sisters, two nephews, one niece, two cousins, and an aunt. Now imagine only having one bathroom. Our house was crowded, to say the least. There was no such thing as privacy and one was never alone. When I reached my rebellious years I discovered the rooftop. I'd often climb out of my tiny bedroom window and lie on the rough brown shingles with our pitbull, Alexis. We would take in the sun's rays, inhale the unrecycled air, and absorb all the peace we could. Here is where I would clear my mind. Here is where my writing journey began.

Now, fast forward 20 years and I am a divorcee with four kids who suck the life out of me and three dogs I often consider making into tacos. My cat, well, my cat is perfect so she stays out of this. Oh, and because we didn't have a big enough zoo, we adopted Pancake, a dog who doesn't realize he is biologically a cat.

I currently work as a Police Officer in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm learning the ropes of what it takes to get one's name out there in the writing world. In the meantime, if you're here, please fasten your seatbelts and remain seated at all times. It's going to be a turbulent ride.
